Skip Sayers
Herbert Sayers (Skip) is the visionary owner behind the SayersBrook Bison Ranch. Skip started his life in
St. Louis, Missouri. Born into the printing business, he enjoyed his youth participating in the family
business by week and spending weekends with his parents and grandparents helping to build the ranch. After
the armed forces, Skip became President of the Sayers Printing Company, President of the Graphic Arts
Foundation, President of Graphic Arts Council of North America and finally President of the American Bison
Association. He currently is active in tourism, running the ranch, and hosting events for businesses and
club destinations.
Connie Sayers
Connie Sayers was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, and graduated from DePauw University in Greencastle,
Indiana, with a B.A. in communications. After graduation, Connie moved to Missouri to work in
meetings and conventions, sales training, and audio-visual production. She was also very active in radio
and television commercials.

When Skip met Connie, it was love at first sight, and they were married in 1975. It was around then that
the couple decided to bring Bison to the family farm that until that time centered on cattle and apples.
Skip and Connie have five children between them. All have participated in the ranch while growing up and in
their adult lives.
Herb, the older son, has a nutritional food delivery service, Summit Nutrition Services, that features Bison in every menu.
Middle daughter Carrie has a catering service that features Bison and she caters for major events at SayersBrook.
First-born Suzan sold for the SayersBrook meat division, while Thirza and Nick help with events and marketing. All lend a hand
at BisonFest on a regular basis.
Ranchers Full-Time
Upon retirement, Skip left the printing business and the Sayers decided to develop a tour destination that
would truly be the Jewel of the Ozarks. Skip enjoys the one-on-one time he gets giving tours and educating
people on the health benefits of Bison meat. He got his training as a tour guide during his college years
when he worked as one in Yellowstone National Park. Connie puts her prior experience to work as head of
events and marketing.

Serving Others
The Sayers have been active in community service and instrumental in engaging private sector support for
their various causes such as the Sayers Christian Foundation, the Sayers Senior Center, and the SayersBrook BisonFest,
a fundraising event for local students to gain scholarships for college studies. BisonFest currently supports 58
students in a variety of schools and programs.
Skip and Connie are currently on the Board of Directors of the YMCA of the Ozarks.
Connie is an enthusiastic gardener and raises Dalmatians while Skip likes to "relax" grading the roads
and bush-hogging the fields in "Boomer" his tractor.
